Mirabile visu! The view has been stunning, from the first sunset that greeted us to the vision of San Gimignano rising out of the cloud on the morning after the storm. The house has been a very welcoming and interesting home to return to after trips to local towns and after walks in the area. Three generations of us have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and, despite the excellent  food and wine, fool ourselves that we leave far more healthily people than those who arrived..

Carissimi Birgitte & Walton!

Siamo felicissimi! Since our last visit in October 1999, we have longed to return to Villa Clarentis, and what a visit it has been. Our guests included old friends from Paris, Rome, London and Canada. The Governor of Gibraltar said he would trade Villa Clarentis for the "Rock" anytime.

Truffles, porcini and the great delights of Tuscan cuisine were experienced again and again - not to mention the "Super Tuscans".

We look forward to an early return - and who knows, one day we may be neighbors. Susan and I extend to you both our warmest regards and gratitude for your advice and assistance.

Un' abbraccio à la Toscana

Dear Gitte and Walton,

Though the weather may have been better last week, everything else has been beyond our hopes. Your beautiful home provided the perfect location for our family vacation. We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this amazing location. The scenery is a treat for the eyes out-of-doors, and we enjoyed ( maybe even coveted) so many of the beautiful pieces inside, too. For all the interesting visits we enjoyed to the tourist sights and cities, the day you both spent with us was the best. What fun to wander the streets of the city market and know that we were one of the very few tourists there. The drive through the countryside was spectacular, and the pottery shopping was'nt bad either, nor was the company.

Thank you again for sharing your home and hospitality. It has been delightful.
